I love discovering new wines and wine making regions. Oregon is making some amazing wines…of which the most famous/popular now is Pinot Noir. This Beaux Freres 2007 pinot noir is of mid-weight on the palate,lighter in weight than the previous 2 wines mentioned above. Sometimes you need variety…I do! This wine can be very versatile…you can have it with lighter style pasta dishes, seafood,pizza and cheese. It displays a mid-tone ruby color and has strawberry,soil,and cherry on the nose. These characteristics are also found in tasting the wine. Remember, this is a lighter style of wine!!! Pairing this with a steak may be a no no…..it will work well with everything except a super heavy meal!

I really love a nice cold glass of Sauvignon Blanc in the summertime. Its crisp clean taste full of fruit and nice acididty is a nice change from the ho-hum cab and chardonnay of everyday life. This Sauvignon Blanc is made at Duckhorn…one of the best producers of wine in the napa valley. It has some semillion in it…which adds to the unique flavor of this Sauv blanc.You can smell in the nose and taste in the wine flavors of guava,lychee,kee lime and other tropical fruit. Its nice acidity is super food friendly. Try it with pizza,fresh seafood, and all kinds of salads and cheeses.

Well,what can I say?? This amazing Napa Valley cabernet is a meal in itself. This is a big bold wine. Not for the faint of heart! I recommend decanting this bad boy for at least an hour before enjoying! Hard to resist though…The nose smells of luscious ripe fruit and toasted oak. The color is a deep purple,which is symbolic of its intensity. Upon tasting you may notice ripe cherry, blackberry, toasted oak and maybe even a little vanilla and subtle notes of dark chocolate. The flavors of this wine are intense and complex,but are in harmony together. This wine has a very long smooth finish.
I absolutely love this label. Its got a very vintage feel to it. Recomended food pairings are flavored meats and cheeses. This wine would be great with any gourmet pizza as well. This wine is organically farmed and has received very high ratings.

I’d like to take this time to thank you for your support over the past year. It was an exciting 12 months that went by way too quickly. I’m looking forward to lots of good things in 2010: like playing my best golf ever and writing here more often.
