Cristie Kerr on Wednesday was named the winner of the Golf Writers Association of America’s Charlie Bartlett Award, given to a player who contributes to the betterment of society through charitable giving.
After her mother, Linda, was diagnosed with Breast Cancer, Kerr was inspired in 2003 to start the Birdies for Breast Cancer Celebrity Golf Classic in Jersey City, N.J.
